Houston, TX (June 10, 2025) The Texas Radio Hall of Fame (TRHOF) will accept applications for its 2025 scholarship program beginning August 18, 2025, with plans to award a minimum of ten (10) individual grants, ranging from $500 to $1,000, to Texas students pursuing courses of study in broadcasting.
- Scholarship winners will be determined by a review board, working with the scholarship underwriters, to announce the recipients by September 29, 2025.
- Eligible students must be currently enrolled in a Texas college, university, art/trade institute, or community college, and participating in classes that would support a career in broadcasting. Acceptable degree programs include Communications, Broadcasting, Broadcast Journalism, Broadcast Production, Radio-Television-Film, and Sales and Marketing provided that the associated curriculum includes training connected to radio.
- Applications must be made through the TRHOF website at www.TRHOF.net before Midnight Central Time on Wednesday, September 17, 2025.
- All recipients, their families, and their individual underwriters will be honored during a special reception on the evening of Friday, October 31, 2025, in the Texas Museum of Broadcasting, in Kilgore, TX. Each scholarship recipient will receive one complimentary hotel room for the evening of October 31, 2025, and two complimentary tickets to the TRHOF’s annual Induction Ceremony on Saturday, November 1, 2025.

The Mike Edmunds “Excellence in Sports Journalism” Scholarship** | $1,000 |
The Guillermo Garza “KWMC Radio” Scholarship* | $500 |
The Kidd Kraddick “Next Generation” Scholarship* | $1,000 |
The Bill Moffett “Make it Happen” Production Scholarship*** | $1,000 |
The Henry “Pepsi” Pena Scholarships* | $2,500 |
The Dale Radio KXRB Scholarship* | $1,000 |
The Rudy Trevino “Tejano Gold Countdown” Scholarship* | $1,000 |
The Lee Woods “Spirit of Texas Radio” Scholarship* | $1,000 |
*The Chris Alan, KWMC Radio, Kidd Kraddick, Henry “Pepsi” Pena, Dale Radio, Rudy Trevino, and Lee Woods named scholarships may be awarded to any student who meets the TRHOF’s Scholarship criteria as noted above.
**The Mike Edmonds named scholarship will be awarded to a student who meets the TRHOF’s Scholarship criteria as noted above and who is pursuing a career in sports journalism, reporting, or broadcasting.
***The Bill Moffett named scholarship may be awarded to any student who meets the TRHOF’s Scholarship criteria as noted above and who is pursuing studies related to broadcast, audio, and/or video production.
