Scholarship Program

For Texas students pursuing collegiate courses of study related to broadcasting.

The Texas Radio Hall of Fame's (TRHOF) Scholarship Program awards individual grants of $1,000 each to students pursuing a course of study related to broadcasting. The winners of these scholarships are determined by a review board who works with the scholarship providers.


  • Scholarship winners will be determined by a review board, working with the scholarship underwriters, to announce the recipients by September 29, 2026.
  • Eligible students must be currently enrolled in a Texas college, university, art/trade institute, or community college, and participating in classes that would support a career in broadcasting. Acceptable degree programs include Communications, Broadcasting, Broadcast Journalism, Broadcast Production, Radio-Television-Film, and Sales and Marketing provided that the associated curriculum includes training connected to radio.
  • Applications must be made through the TRHOF website at www.TRHOF.net before Midnight Central Time on Thursday, September 17, 2026.
  • All recipients, their families, and their individual underwriters will be honored during a special reception on the evening of Friday, November 6, 2026, in the Texas Museum of Broadcasting, in Kilgore, TX. Each scholarship recipient will receive one complimentary hotel room for the evening of November 6, 2026, and two complimentary tickets to the TRHOF’s annual Induction Ceremony on Saturday, November 7, 2026.

Essay

Your ORIGINAL essay should be 500-1,000 words describing your interest and affection for broadcasting. As an alternative you may upload an audio or video message no more than two (2) minutes in length.
