Texas Radio Hall Of Fame Names New Board Members; Streamlines Nomination and Voting Process
The Texas Radio Hall Of Fame (TRHOF) has invited six broadcast professionals, all prior inductees, to join its Executive Board. Recent Board action approved the addition of T. J. Callahan, Caroline Devine, Muriel Funches, Gil Garcia, Jr., Glen Ivey, and Steve Zetsche to lead the organization into the future. Retiring executive director Josh Holstead was named Director Emeritus.
“We’re building a strong team of advisors to help chart a meaningful, relevant future for the TRHOF,” said Doug Harris, newly installed Executive Director. “These pros add experience, strength, and balance to an organization committed to honoring the contributions of worthy broadcasters in every format, every Texas market, and every job description in which exemplary performance is present.”
A SIMPLIFIED NOMINATION AND VOTING PROCESS
Nominations for the 2021 TRHOF Class will be accepted from voting members beginning July 1, 2021 at the association's website TRHOF.net. Nominations and voting for an expanded field of recognition will now be accepted in two categories: On-Air and Programming and Management and Sales.
Engineers, marketing/promotion directors, production directors, and others whose work connects directly to the content and quality of the on-air product, would be considered in the On-Air and Programming category. The Management and Sales category will salute the accomplishments of owners, market managers, GM’s, OM’s, GSM, SM, DOS, CFOs, and other organizational personnel.
Nominations will be announced, and final voting will commence, on July 20th. The 2021 TRHOF Inductees will be revealed on August 2, 2021, and honored on Saturday, November 6, 2021, in a special ceremony at the Texas Museum of Broadcasting and Communications in Kilgore, TX.
